The Picture is of Kilchatten
A village on the south west coast.
The island of Bute is off the west coast of Scotland.
It is close to Arran which can be seen from the western side of the island. It is quite small, about 14 miles north to south and around 3.5 miles east to west.
The north end has no roads and is very rocky. The south is flatter and much of it is occupied by farms, mainly rearing sheep.
There is just one town, Rothesay, where the ferry to the mainland runs from. There are a few villages and hamlets and we live in Ardbeg - one of the villages.
